Why Camp Ministry
There is something to be said for breaking the routine of day-to-day life in order to allow space to grow and learn. This is the goal of Christian camps and retreat centers around the country. People have a chance to relax, breathe, grow in Christ, and take their renewed focus back home to the day to day. Luke 5:16 provides a perfect example of this: "But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray."
Providing the best Christian camp experience possible encourages people to return and invite others, allowing them to grow in their faith and advancing God's Kingdom and spread of the gospel.
When things remain unfixed or facilities cannot be improved, the number of people who can attend becomes limited.
When there are limits or distractions from broken facilities (like a light bulb that won't stop flickering), fewer people will hear Christ's message effectively.
Camps often do not have enough hands for the amount of work they have, and they need help.
How does serving camps help grow the Kingdom?
Over 65,573 people reached for Christ at the 11 camps we served at in 2024!!
There are thousands of Christian camps around the country, and millions who attend retreats and camps there during the year both to grow in their faith or to begin their relationship with God.
That’s a lot of people hearing God’s word each year that might, for example, have never walked into a church, but who don’t mind an adventure camp where they just happen to hear about Jesus.
Camps have a unique opportunity to show youth that they belong, that they are loved, and that they matter. They are places where families can come together to make memories and grow in Christ. It’s where men's and women's retreats can give mental, physical, and spiritual rest to weary souls. The goal of it all: ETERNAL impact!
How much impact do camps really have?
